Abstract:Objective To explore the effect and safety of remimazolam combined with ciprofol in general anesthesia for elderly orthopedic surgery patients. Methods A total of 100 elderly patients who underwent orthopedic surgery at Nanping First Hospital in Fujian Province from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected. All patients received general anesthesia and were divided into a control group and an observation group,50 cases in each group based on different anesthesia protocols. The control group was administered midazolam combined with propofol anesthesia, while the observation group received remimazolam combined with ciprofol anesthesia. The study compared the onset time of anesthesia, postoperative recovery time, time to leave the operating room, incidence of adverse reactions,as well as heart rate, mean arterial pressure, and cognitive function at various time points between the two groups. Results The observation group had significantly shorter durations for anesthesia onset, postoperative recovery, and discharge compared to the control group(P<0.05).Heart rate and mean arterial pressure at 3 and 10 minutes post-anesthesia in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Cognitive function scores at 10 and 30 minutes post-recovery in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse effects during anesthesia in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of remimazolam and ciprofol in general anesthesia has good anesthesia effect and safety for elderly orthopedic surgery, and is worthy of promotion and use.
