Effects of Diversified Health Education under Hospital-community Combination on Self-management Ability and Quality of Life of Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Community

Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of diversified health education under hospital-community combination on self-management ability and quality of life of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in community.Methods A total of 100 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus treated in a community health service center from January 2023 to December 2024 were selected.All patients were stratified randomly into a control group and a joint nursing group,with 50 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing care,while the joint nursing group received diversified health education under the hospital-community combination.The nursing effects of the two groups were compared.Results After the intervention,the scores of diabetes knowledge,self-management ability and quality of life in the two groups were better than those before the intervention,and the scores of the above indicators in the joint nursing group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The satisfaction rate in the joint nursing group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion In the daily management of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the community,diversified health education under the hospital-community combination can effectively enhance patients'self-management ability and disease related knowledge reserves,promote them to actively follow medical advice,and improve patients'quality of life and nursing satisfaction,which is worth promoting.
