Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of single-dose and divided-dose administration methods on the quality of bowel preparation in patients undergoing colonoscopy. Methods Eighty-six patients from January 2024 to March 2025 who underwent colonoscopy in Jiangyin Second People's Hospital were selected as the research subjects, and were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 43 cases in each group by a random number table method. The control group received 3 L of medication 4~6 hours before the colonoscopy examination, while the observation group received 1.5 L of medication the night before the examination and another 1.5 L of medication 4~6 hours before the examination on the same day.The sleep disturbances, intestinal preparation quality, comfort, and incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups were compared. Results The non-sleep disturbance rate of the observation group was 18.60%,while the sleep disturbance rate of the control group was 58.14%(P<0.05).The observation group had a sufficient intestinal preparation rate of 95.35%,while the control group had a sufficient intestinal preparation rate of 76.74%(P<0.05).The comfort rate of the observation group was 93.02%,while that of the control group was 69.77%(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 4.66%,while the incidence of adverse reactions in the control group was 13.98%(P>0.05).Conclusion For patients undergoing colonoscopy, the divided-dose administration method is superior to the single-dose method in terms of bowel preparation quality and patient comfort, without severe adverse reactions. It can be widely promoted and applied in clinical practice.
