Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of Snyder's hope theory combined with free position labor in painless delivery for first-time mothers. Methods One hundred and sixty-four primiparous women who gave birth at Jianou Maternal and Child Health Hospital from March 2023 to October 2024 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 82 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing care.On the basis of routine nursing, the observation group adopted Snyder's hope theory combined with free position labor intervention. The scores of childbirth self-efficacy inventory(CBSEI-C32),childbirth experience questionnaire(CEQ),visual analogue scale(VAS),and labor process improvement between two groups of parturients were compared. Results After the intervention, the scores of the CBSEI-C32 sub-scale and total score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The scores of each dimension and total score of the CEQ in the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The VAS scores at each time point of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The labor duration of each stage and the total labor duration of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Snyder's hope theory that combined with free position waiting for delivery can enhance the mother's self perception and subjective efficacy during childbirth,as well as alleviate pain and shorten the labor process.
