Application Value of Scraping Therapy Combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine Emotional Nursing in Patients with Cough following Upper Respiratory Tract Infection

Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of scraping therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)emotional nursing in patients with cough following upper respiratory tract infection.Methods A total of 96 patients with cough following upper respiratory tract infection admitted to Jiangsu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to December 2024 were randomly divided into conventional group and combined group,with 48 cases in each group.The patients in the conventional group received symptomatic treatment according to the doctor's advice and supplemented by routine nursing.Combined group was treated with scraping therapy combined with traditional Chinese emotional care on the basis of conventional group.The curative effects,TCM syndrome scores before and after treatment,sleep quality(Pittsburgh sleep quality index,PSQI),quality of life(the MOS item short from health survey,SF-36),psychological status[(self-rating anxiety scale,SAS)、(self-rating depression scale,SDS)],nursing satisfaction and incidence of complications of the two groups were compared and analyzed.Results Before intervention,there were no significant differences in TCM syndrome score,PSQI,SF-36,SAS and SDS scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention,TCM syndrome score,PSQI,SF-36,SAS and SDS scores were significantly improved between the two groups(P<0.05).After intervention,the TCM syndrome score,PSQI,SF-36,SAS and SDS scores in the combined group were significantly better than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of combined group and nursing satisfaction were significantly higher than those of conventional group(P<0.05),and no serious adverse reactions occurred in both groups during the intervention.Conclusion The scraping therapy combined with traditional Chinese emotional nursing can significantly improve the efficacy and quality of life,negative emotions,sleep quality,and nursing satisfaction in patients with cough following upper respiratory tract infection,which is worthy of promotion.
