Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of medical composite chitosan-cellulose dressings in the treatment of superficial second-degree skin injuries. Methods A total of 192 patients with superficial second-degree skin injuries who were treated at the Foot and Ankle Surgery Department of Shenyang Orthopedic Hospital between January 2024 and April 2025 were selected and randomly divided into a control group, observation group 1,and observation group 2,with 64 cases in each group. The control group received traditional sterile gauze dressing treatment, observation group 1 was treated with chitosan medical biological wound repair dressing, and observation group 2 was treated with medical chitosan wound protective film. The wound healing time, pain levels during dressing changes, and bacterial culture positive rates, wound area, and inflammatory indicators at different time points after treatment were compared among the three groups.Additionally, the scar formation status was compared among the three groups four weeks after wound healing. Results The wound healing time of observation group 1 was(7.5±1.7)days,and observation group 2 was(7.6±1.6)days,both significantly shorter than the control group's(9.3±1.9)days(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in wound healing time between observation group 1 and observation group 2(P>0.05).The pain score during dressing change in observation group 1 was(1.9±0.7)points,while observation group 2 was(2.0±0.8)points,both significantly lower than the control group's(2.6±1.0)points(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in pain scores between observation group 1 and observation group 2 during dressing changes(P>0.05).The positive rates of wound bacterial culture on the 3rd and 7th day of treatment in observation group 1 and observation group 2 were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the positive rate of wound bacterial culture between observation group 1 and observation group 2 on the 3rd and 7th day of treatment(P>0.05).The wound area of observation group 1 and observation group 2 on the 3rd and 7th day of treatment,as well as during healing, were all significantly smaller than those of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the wound area between observation group 1 and observation group 2 on the 3rd and 7th day of treatment and at the time of healing(P>0.05).The levels of inflammatory markers in observation group 1 and observation group 2 were significantly lower than those in the control group on the 3rd and 7th day of treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the levels of inflammatory markers between observation group 1 and observation group 2 on the 3rd and 7th day of treatment(P>0.05).After 4 weeks of wound healing, the scar scores of observation group 1 were(3.8±1.7)points and observation group 2 were(4.2±1.5)points,both significantly lower than the control group's(5.2±1.5)points(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in scar scores between observation group 1 and observation group 2 after 4 weeks of wound healing(P>0.05).Conclusion The use of composite chitosan cellulose dressings for the treatment of superficial second degree skin injuries has shown good results, promoting wound healing, reducing pain during dressing changes, effectively controlling wound infections, inhibiting inflammatory reactions, and reducing scar formation. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
