Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of empathic nursing model in vaginal trial labor among primiparas. Methods A total of 100 primiparas who plan to undergo vaginal trial labor at Sheyang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from March 2023 to April 2024 were selected and randomly divided into the routine group and the empathic group, with 50 cases in each group.Routine nursing was adopted in the routine group, and empathy nursing was adopted in the empathic group. The nursing effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results After intervention, the fear of childbirth, negative emotions, and quality of life scores in both groups improved significantly compared to before intervention, and the empathy group had significantly better scores than the routine group after intervention(all P<0.05).The total labor process of the empathic group was significantly shorter than that of the routine group, the cesarean section rate was significantly lower than that of the routine group, and the rate of exclusive breastfeeding after 42 days postpartum was significantly higher than that of the routine group(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in Apgar scores between the two groups of newborns(P>0.05).Conclusion Empathic nursing can significantly reduce the mental stress, negative emotion and delivery fear of primipara, and enhance the confidence of vaginal delivery.
