Analysis of the Effect of Embedding Beans in Auricular Points Combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine Characteristic Nursing in Patients with Diabetes Complicated with Insomnia

Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of embedding beans in auricular points combined with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)characteristic nursing in patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with insomnia.Methods In this study,96 patients with diabetes mellitus combined with insomnia who were treated in Wuqing District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Tianjin from January 2021 to March 2024 were selected as research objects and randomly divided into traditional group and TCM characteristic group,with 48 cases in each group.The traditional group was treated with traditional nursing,and the TCM characteristic group was treated with ear point embedding beans combined with TCM characteristic nursing.The effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed.Results Before the intervention,there were no significant differences in fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2hPG),sleep quality(pittsburgh sleep quality index,PSQI),self-management ability,and quality of life(the 36-item short form health survey,SF-36)between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,FPG,2hPG,PSQI,self-management ability,and SF-36 in both groups were significantly improved(P<0.05).Moreover,after the intervention,the FPG,2hPG,PSQI,self-management ability and SF-36 in the TCM characteristic group were significantly better than those in the traditional group(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of patients in the TCM characteristic group was significantly higher than that in the traditional group(P<0.05).Conclusion Auricular point embedding combined with TCM characteristic nursing for patients with diabetes complicated with insomnia can significantly improve their blood glucose levels and sleep quality,enhance their self-management ability and quality of life,and increase nursing satisfaction.
