Abstract:Objective To analyze the correlation between inflammatory factor, oxidative stress factor expression and alveolar bone resorption in gingival crevicular fluid of patients with periodontitis. Methods From May 2022 to May 2024,88 patients with PD admitted to the People's Hospital of Yunyang District of Shiyan City were selected as the study group.Additionally,88 healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations during the same period at the same hospital were selected as the control group. The differences in inflammatory factors, oxidative stress factors, and alveolar bone resorption indicators between the two groups of patients were compared, and the correlation analysis were performed. Results Aspartate-specific cysteine protease 1(Caspase-1),nod-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD(ASC),interleukin-18(IL-18),receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand(RANKL),Type I collagen pyridine cross-linked amino-terminal peptide(NTX),matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP9),and superoxide dismutase(SOD)were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Runt-related transcription factor 2(Runx2),osteoprotegerin(OPG),malondialdehyde(MDA),reactive oxygen species(ROS)were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that Caspase1,NLRP3,IL-1β,ASC,IL-18,and SOD were positively correlated with RANKL,NTX,and MMP9(P<0.05),and negatively correlated with Runx2 and OPG(P<0.05).MDA and ROS were positively correlated with Runx2 and OPG(P<0.05),and negatively correlated with RANKL,NTX,and MMP9(P<0.05).Conclusion In patients with PD,the expression of inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid is upregulated, oxidative stress levels are elevated, and the imbalance in the RANKL/OPG ratio leads to alveolar bone resorption. This may provide important insights into the pathogenesis and treatment strategies of PD.
