Analysis of the Epidemiological Characteristics of AIDS in Rui'an City from 2004 to 2023

Abstract:Objective To control the spread of AIDS,reduce the incidence of AIDS,and achieve the goal of ending the public health of AIDS by 2030 for better,targeted interventions and prevention and control measures are proposed.Methods Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to statistically analyze the data of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)/acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS)in Rui'an City from 2004 to 2023.Results From 2004 to 2023,there were 1294 cases of HIV/AIDS cases currently living in Rui'an City,with an average annual reported incidence rate of 5.02/100,000,the highest rate reached 9.31/100,000,the average annual reported mortality rate was 0.35/100,000,ranking first in the mortality rate of infectious diseases.The reported incidence rate showed an overall upward trend(χ2=16.64,P<0.01).The urban incidence was higher than that of other towns(streets).The male-to-female ratio was 4.32∶1(χ2=420.34,P<0.01),and the male-to-female ratio showed an trend year by year(χ2=6.36,P<0.05),and the proportion of≥50 years old age showed an upward trend(χ2=10.84,P<0.01).The route of infection was mainly sexual transmission,and the trend same-sex transmission increased year by year(χ2=7.71,P<0.01).Conclusion The overall trend of AIDS epidemic in Rui'an City from 2004 to 2023 was first upward and then slowly downward,but the incidence rate is still relatively high,and the prevention and control situation is grim.Especially,the incidence of the elderly continues to rise,and key interventions need to be strengthened.The proportion of same-sex transmission routes has increased year by year,and men who have with men are also key groups for prevention and intervention.
