Effect of Moxifloxacin Combined with Carbocisteine in the Treatment of Community-acquired Pneumonia

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of moxifloxacin combined with carbocisteine in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia(CAP).Methods A total of 150 patients with CAP who were treated in Changshu First People's Hospital from June 2021 to June 2024 were selected.All the patients were divided into a moxifloxacin group and a control group with 75 cases in each by different treatment plans.The moxifloxacin group was treated with moxifloxacin combined with carbocisteine,while the control group was treated with piperacillin sodium and tazobactam sodium combined with carbocisteine.The treatment effects,symptom disappearance time,severity of pneumonia and levels of inflammatory factors before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of moxifloxacin group was significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).The recovery time of body temperature,disappearance of cough and sputum,normalization of blood routine,and disappearance of lung rales in the moxifloxacin group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the scores of pneumonia severity index(PSI),the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6)and procalcitonin(PCT)between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the scores of PSI and the levels of CRP,TNF-α,IL-6,and PCT in both groups were lower than before treatment,and the levels of these indicators in the moxifloxacin group were significantly lower than those in the control group after treatment(all P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with CAP,treatment with moxifloxacin combined with carbocisteine on the basis of symptomatic treatment has a good therapeutic effects,can promote patient recovery,and is worthy of clinical promotion and use.
