A 1:1 Matched Analysis of Risk Factors Related to Spontaneous Abortion in Pregnancy Complicated with Hypothyroidism

Abstract:Objective To explore the related risk factors of spontaneous abortion in pregnancy with hypothyroidism. Methods Forty cases of natural miscarriage patients with pregnancy complicated by hypothyroidism admitted to Zibo Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from December 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the observation group.According to a 1:1 ratio, another 40 cases of normal delivery patients with pregnancy complicated by hypothyroidism admitted to our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group.A univariate analysis was conducted on two sets of clinical data, and logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the factors associated with spontaneous abortion. Results There were statistically significant differences in the levels of thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),homocysteine(Hcy),and the positive rate of thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb)between the two groups(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that TPOAb positivity(OR=3.133),TSH levels≥4.15 mIU/L(OR=3.710),and Hcy levels≥9.54 μmol/L(OR=3.518)were risk factors for spontaneous abortion in pregnant women with hypothyroidism(P<0.05).Conclusion The occurrence of spontaneous abortion in patients with pregnancy complicated by hypothyroidism is correlated with high levels of TSH,high levels of Hcy,and positive TPOAb.Clinically, these factors can be combined to conduct targeted regular screenings for relevant populations and develop relevant prevention and control measures to reduce the incidence of spontaneous abortion.
