Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of high-dose vitamin C assisted azithromycin in the treatment of children with mycoplasma pneumonia. Methods One hundred and forty-seven children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia admitted to Zhenghe County Hospital of Nanping from January 2023 to December 2024 were randomly divided into a control group of 73 cases and an observation group of 74 cases by random number table method. The control group received sequential therapy with azithromycin, while the observation group received treatment with vitamin C additionally. The clinical effects of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the duration of various clinical symptoms and signs in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of interleukin-6,procalcitonin,interleukin-17,and high sensitivity C-reactive protein in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of CD3+and CD4+in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),while there was no statistically significant difference in CD8+levels between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion High-dose vitamin C,when used as an adjunct to azithromycin in the treatment of children with mycoplasmal pneumonia, can help expedite symptom relief, reduce inflammatory response, and modulate immune function.
