The Comparison of the Effects of Compound Lidocaine Cream External Application and Lidocaine Local Anesthesia in Radial Artery Puncture in Anesthesiology Department

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of compound lidocaine cream external application and lidocaine local anesthesia in the anesthesia department of radial artery puncture.Methods One hundred and fifty patients who underwent radial artery puncture in Ningde Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2022 to May 2024 were selected and divided into observation group(n=75)and control group(n=75)by random number table method.The control group received lidocaine local anesthesia,and the observation group received compound lidocaine cream for external application.The heart rate,blood pressure,pain degree at each time point,puncture condition,adverse reaction rate and patient satisfaction rate were compared between the two groups.Results The success rate of puncture in the observation group was 97.33%,which was higher than 88.00%in the control group(χ2=4.807,P=0.028).Five minutes after puncture,the heart rate and blood pressure levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The pain scores at each time point in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The adverse reaction rate in the observation group was 4.00%,which was lower than 17.33%in the control group(χ2=6.996,P=0.008).Conclusion In radial artery puncture in anesthesiology,the application of compound lidocaine cream can effectively stabilize patients'vital signs,reduce puncture pain,improve puncture success rate,and decrease the incidence of adverse reactions during puncture.
