Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of a problem-based intervention model in elderly patients with early-stage Parkinson's disease. Methods A total of 94 elderly patients with early Parkinson's disease(PD)treated in Nanping First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from August 2021 to August 2023 were enrolled in this study, and divided into a control group and a study group, with 47 cases in each group according to the random number table method. The control group received standard interventions, while the study group was treated with a problem-focused intervention approach. The scores of neurological function[mini mental state examination(MMSE),Montreal cognitive assessment(montreal cognitive),Parkinson's disease sleep scale(PDSS)],self-care ability[exercise of self-care ability agency(ESCA)]and quality of life[Parkinson's disease quality of life questionnaire 39(PDQ-39)]was compared between the two groups. Results After 3 months of intervention, the MMSE,MoCA,PDSS and ESCA scores of the study group were higher than those of the control group, while the PDQ-39 score of the study group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The problem-based intervention model effectively improves neurocognitive function, enhances self-care capacity, and promotes quality of life in elderly patients with early-stage PD.
