Efficacy of Combination of Serum PCT,CRP,and NLR in Early Diagnosis of Bacterial Bloodstream Infections

Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy of combination of serum procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),neutrophil lymphocyte ratio(NLR)in the early diagnosis of bacterial bloodstream infections. Methods One hundred and eighty-six suspected bacterial bloodstream infection patients admitted to Pingyi County People's Hospital of Linyi from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected. After pathogen culture, positive patients were selected as the observation group(n=60)and negative patients were selected as the control group(n=126).The serum levels of PCT,CRP,and NLR of the two groups were compared.Multiple factor Cox regression analysis was used to analyze relevant factors, and ROC curves were used to evaluate the diagnostic value of individual indicators and combination detection for bacterial bloodstream infections. Results The levels of PCT,CRP,and NLR in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that PCT,CRP,and NLR are independent risk factors for bacterial bloodstream infections.ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the ROC curve for the combination detection of serum PCT,CRP,and NLR in bacterial bloodstream infections was significantly higher than that of each individual detection result(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of serum PCT,CRP,and NLR has high diagnostic efficacy for early diagnosis of bacterial bloodstream infections.
