Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of pralofen combined with polyethylene glycol eye drops on symptom, inflammatory response and oxidative stress in patients with dry eye syndrome after cataract surgery. Methods One hundred and two patients with dry eye syndrome after cataract surgery admitted to Zhangzhou Xiangcheng Yangen Hospital from May 2021 to April 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and a study group, with 51 patients in each group by a random number table method. The control group was treated with diclofenac sodium eye drops combined with polyethylene glycol eye drops, while the study group was treated with pralofen combined with polyethylene glycol eye drops. The improvement of symptoms, inflammatory response, and oxidative stress between two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the results of schirmer i test,break-up time, fluorescein and ocular surface disease index of the study group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05).The levels of interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α,and interleukin-8 in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of malondialdehyde and lipid peroxides in the study group were lower than those in the control group, while the levels of superoxide dismutase and total antioxidant capacity were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Pralofen combined with polyethylene glycol eye drops has a definite therapeutic effect on dry eye syndrome after cataract surgery, which can effectively promote symptom improvement, inhibit inflammatory reactions, and regulate oxidative stress.
