Analysis of Influencing Factors on Nutritional Status in Patients with Chronic Schizophrenia

Abstract:Objective To explore the influencing factors of nutritional status in patients with chronic schizophrenia.Methods A total of 80 patients with chronic schizophrenia admitted to Tengzhou Mental Health Center in Shandong Province from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected.Evaluate the nutritional status of patients and analyze the factors that affect the nutritional status of patients with chronic schizophrenia.Results Out of 80 patients,30(37.50%)had malnutrition.There were significant differences in age,disease duration,swallowing function,history of falls,sleep quality,depression status,and severity of illness between patients with normal and poor nutrition(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that disease duration,swallowing function,history of falls,sleep quality,and depression status were factors affecting the nutritional status of patients with chronic schizophrenia(P<0.05).Conclusion The nutritional status of patients with chronic schizophrenia is influenced by multiple factors,and it should be taken seriously and interventions related to these factors should be strengthened to improve the nutritional status of patients.
