Effects of Estriol Cream Combined with Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation on Pelvic Floor Muscle Strength,Clinical Symptoms and Quality of Life in Perimenopausal Patients with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effects of estriol cream combined with pelvic floor rehabilitation on perimenopausal patients with pelvic floor dysfunction(PFD).Methods One hundred and twenty PFD patients admitted to Fuzhou First Hospital from June 2021 to June 2024 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,with 60 patients in each group.The control group received pelvic floor biofeedback stimulation and muscle exercise,while the observation group received additional estriol cream treatment.The pelvic floor muscle strength,pelvic floor muscle function parameters,pelvic floor distress inventory(PFDI-20)scores,pelvic organ prolapse/urinary incontinence sexual questionnaire(PISQ-12)scores,and women's toileting behavior scale(WTBS)scores were compared before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the pelvic floor muscle strength grade of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The resting electromyographic values of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,while the maximum contraction force,sustained contraction force,rapid contraction force,and average contraction force were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The PFDI-20 score and WTBS score were significantly lower than those of the control group,while the PISQ-12 score was higher than that that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of estriol ointment and pelvic floor rehabilitation therapy can effectively improve pelvic floor muscle contraction and pelvic floor function in PFD patients,and enhance their quality of life.
