Quality Control Circle Practice to Reduce the Incidence of Drug Administration Errors in Hospitalized Children

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of quality control circle(QCC)in reducing the incidence of medication errors in hospitalized children.Methods Create a QCC activity group,select"reducing the incidence of medication errors in hospitalized children"as the activity theme,analyze the present situation,determine the improvement focus,set the target value,formulate countermeasures and implement it,and analyze and compare the incidence of drug administration errors in hospitalized children before and after the activity.At the same time,the interrupted rate of drug administration,the non-full drug dose calculation ability of nurses,and the activity ability of QCC members were analyzed and compared,and the goal achievement rate and progress rate after the activity were calculated.Results After the implementation of QCC,the incidence of medication errors in hospitalized patients decreased significantly from 0.175%to 0.051%(P<0.05).Interruption rate of nurses'medication,the calculation ability test score of nurses for non-full dose drugs and the activity ability improvement of QCC members were significantly different before and after activities(P<0.05).After the activity,the goal achievement rate was 110.71%,and the progress rate was 70.86%.Conclusion QCC activities can effectively reduce the incidence of drug administration errors in hospitalized children,and it is worth promoting.
