Abstract:Objective To investigate the preventive and therapeutic effects of palonosetron on chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting(CINV)in patients with malignant tumor. Methods A total of 82 patients with malignant tumors who underwent chemotherapy at the First People's Hospital of Changshu from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected.Among them,41 patients who received palonosetron to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting were selected as the study group, and 41 patients who received metoclopramide to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting were selected as the control group. The incidence of nausea and vomiting and adverse reactions at different times of chemotherapy were compared between two groups,as well as the functional status and quality of life before and 3 months after intervention. Results On the first, third, and sixth day of chemotherapy, the nausea and vomiting scores in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Three months after intervention, the functional status and quality of life scores of both groups were significantly higher than before intervention, and the functional status and quality of life scores of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Palonosetron is safe and effective in preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in malignant tumors, and is worthy of promotion and use.
