Effect of Cluster Nursing on Postoperative Chronic Pain in Elderly Patients with Hip Fracture

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of cluster nursing on postoperative chronic pain in elderly patients with hip fracture.Methods A total of 85 elderly hip fracture patients admitted to the Siming Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from April 2020 to October 2023 were selected as the study subjects,and were divided into the control group(N=45 cases)and the observation group(N=45 cases)according to the admission time.The control group was given conventional perioperative care,and the observation group implemented cluster nursing on the basis of the control group.The postoperative pain,and the impact of pain on sleep and daily life were compared at 6 months afetr surgery between the two groups.Results The degree and frequency of pain in the observation group improved significantly compared with the control group at 6 months after surgery(P<0.05).Sleep and daily life were significantly less affected by pain in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of cluster nursing for elderly patients with hip fracture can effectively prevent or alleviate postoperative chronic pain and improve the quality of life of patients.
