Effect of Dapagliflozin Combined with Metformin and Insulin Pump in Intensive Treatment of T2DM

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of dapagliflozin combined with metformin and insulin pump in the intensive treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 120 patients with T2DM admitted to Baoji Second People's Hospital from January 2023 to April 2024 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 60 patients in each group.All patients were given exercise and dietary interventions.On this basis,the control group was treated with metformin combined with insulin pump intensive therapy,while the observation group was treated with dapagliflozin on the basis of the control group treatment plan.After ten days of treatment,achieving glycemic control,average daily insulin dosage,and incidence of hypoglycemia and urinary tract infection were compared between two groups,as well as blood glucose levels,pancreatic function,quality of life,and body mass before and after treatment.Results After treatment,both groups showed improvement in fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose,pancreatic beta cell function index,insulin resistance index,quality of life score,and body mass compared to before treatment.Moreover,the levels of these indicators in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).The observation group had a shorter time in achieving glycemic control than the control group,and the daily insulin dosage was significantly less than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of hypoglycemia and urinary tract infections between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion For T2DM patients,the addition of dapagliflozin to metformin combined with insulin pump intensified therapy can effectively control blood glucose levels,improve pancreatic function,enhance quality of life,and has good safety.It is worth promoting and using.
