Abstract:Objective To compare the anesthetic effects of different doses of dexmedetomidine during surgery for chronic sinusitis. Methods Fifty patients with chronic sinusitis who underwent sinus surgery in Pingjiang Hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected as research object. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 25 cases in each group. The control group was anesthetized with intravenous infusion of 0.7 μg/kg dose of dexmedetomidine, while the observation group was anesthetized with intravenous infusion of 0.5 μg/kg dose of dexmedetomidine. The clinical indicators, cognitive function, and adverse reactions at different time points between two groups were compared. Results The observation group had better recovery time, anesthesia standard time, extubation time, intraoperative blood loss, and Ramsay score than the control group(P<0.05).The observation group showed relatively stable vital signs after anesthesia, and the mean arterial pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate, and blood oxygen saturation of T1~T3 were better than those of the control group(P<0.05).Six hours and 12 hours after surgery, the scores of Montreal cognitive assessment and mini-mental state examination in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The adverse reaction rate of the observation group was 4.00%,which was lower than 24.00%of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of 0.5 μg/kg dose of dexmedetomidine for anesthesia in patients with chronic sinusitis during surgery can promote postoperative recovery, stabilize vital signs, and improve cognitive function recovery with a lower incidence of adverse reactions.
