Application of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Combined with Group Health Education in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus and Schizophrenia

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with group health education in patients with diabetes mellitus and schizophrenia.Methods The study included 60 patients with diabetes and schizophrenia admitted to Neuropsychiatric Prevention and Treatment Institute of Fuzhou Second General Hospital from June 2023 to February 2024,and the patients were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 30 cases in each group.The control group received routine care,while the observation group received additional mindfulness and stress relief combined with group health education additionally.The blood glucose control status,self-efficacy level,self-care ability,and nursing satisfaction rate between two groups were compared.Results After intervention,the fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose,and insulin resistance index in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group,while the fasting C-peptide was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The general self-efficacy scale and exercise of self-care agency scale scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined application of mindfulness decompression and group health education in diabetes patients with schizophrenia can further improve the effect of blood sugar control,enhance my sense of efficacy and self-care ability,and achieve higher nursing satisfaction.
