Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of high-speed turbine handpieces combined with minimally invasive tooth extraction in the treatment of impacted mandibular teeth. Methods A total of 120 patients with impacted mandibular teeth admitted to the Department of Stomatology at Yanggu County People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into a minimally invasive group and a control group according to different surgical method, with 60 patients in each group. The minimally invasive group received high-speed turbine handpieces combined with minimally invasive tooth extraction, while the control group received chisel osteotomy.Compare the treatment outcomes and pain levels at different time points and quality of life before and after tooth extraction,as well as the occurrence of postoperative complications after tooth extraction. Results The comparison of treatment outcomes between the two groups showed that the minimally invasive group had a significantly shorter surgical time, less intraoperative bleeding, and a higher score for tooth socket integrity compared to the control group(P<0.05).The visual analogue scores of pain in the minimally invasive group were significantly lower than those in the control group on the 1st day and 3rd day after tooth extraction(P<0.05).After tooth extraction, the quality of life scores of both groups were significantly higher than before, and the quality of life scores of the minimally invasive group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the minimally invasive group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of high-speed turbine handpieces combined with minimally invasive tooth extraction can effectively alleviate patient pain, improve quality of life, reduce the incidence of complications, and have a relatively ideal treatment effect in the treatment of impacted mandibular teeth.
