Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation on patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD)complicated with type Ⅱ respiratory failure(RF).Methods A total of 98 patients with AECOPD complicated with type Ⅱ RF who were hospitalized at Quanzhou First Hospital from June 2018 to October 2023 and received conventional drug treatment were selected.Among them,49 patients who received non-invasive positive pressure ventilation treatment were selected as the non-invasive group, and 49 patients who received low flow oxygen therapy were selected as the oxygen inhalation group.Compare the treatment effects of two groups,as well as the vital signs, blood gas indicators, lung function, and quality of life before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of non-invasive group was significantly higher than that of oxygen inhalation group(P<0.05).After treatment, the vital signs, blood gas indicators, lung function, and quality of life of the two groups improved compared to before treatment, and the above indicators in non-invasive group were significantly better than those in the oxygen inhalation group after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation is more effective for patients with AECOPD complicated with type Ⅱ RF.It can further improve the patients'vital signs, blood gas indicators, lung function, and quality of life, which is worth promoting.
