Effect and Short-term Prognosis of Dapagliflozin Adjuvant Treatment in Heart Failure Patients with Reduced Ejection Fraction

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and short-term prognosis of dapagliflozin as an adjuvant therapy for patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction(HFrEF).Methods A total of 90 patients with HFrEF admitted to Linglong Yingcheng Hospital from June 2021 to October 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 45 cases in each group. The control group received routine treatment, while the observation group received additional dapagliflozin based on routine treatment.Compare the laboratory indicators and cardiac ultrasound indicators before and after treatment,as well as the clinical efficacy after treatment and the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE)during treatment between two groups. Results After treatment, the left ventricular ejection fraction, left ventricular end diastolic diameter, end diastolic interventricular septal thickness, and left ventricular mass index in both groups improved compared to before treatment, and the above indicators in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in both groups improved compared to before treatment, and the above indicators in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of MACE during treatment in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Adjuvant treatment with dapagliflozin in patients with HFrEF can further effectively improve myocardial remodeling, enhance heart function, reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events, and have a good efficacy and short-term prognosis.
