Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of pregabalin combined with famciclovir in the treatment of elderly patients with herpes zoster accompanied by neuropathic pain. Methods Eighty elderly patients with herpes zoster accompanied by neuropathic pain admitted to People's Hospital of Jinping County from January 2022 to December 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 40 patients in each group. The control group were treated with famciclovir and ibuprofen, while the observation group were treated with famciclovir and pregabalin. The improvement of pain, sleep quality, and serum factors between two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the numerical score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of each item in the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of β-endorphin in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the levels of substance P,interleukin-6,interleukin-18,and tumor necrosis factor-α were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Pregabalin combined with famciclovir can further alleviate pain, improve sleep quality, regulate pain factors and non-specific inflammatory factors in elderly patients with herpes zoster accompanied by neuropathic pain.
