Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of multiple forms of breastfeeding guidance on the mother and baby of primiparous women after delivery. Methods Two hundred and seventy-two primipara in Tianjin Fifth Central Hospital from March 2020 to March 2021 were selected and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 136 cases in each group. The control group received traditional breast-feeding instruction, and the observation group received multi-form breast-feeding instruction. The success rate of breastfeeding within 6 months, the readmission of newborns after discharge, the depression status,self-care ability and sleep quality of lactating women, and the incidence rate of breast diseases were compared between the two groups. Results Within 6 months postpartum, the observation group had a higher rate of complete breastfeeding than the control group, while the artificial feeding rate was lower than the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the mixed feeding rates between the two groups(P>0.05).The readmission rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The scores of self-rating depression scale and Pittsburgh sleep quality index of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, while the score of exercise of self-care agency scale was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of mastitis and breast abscess in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of multiple forms of breastfeeding guidance in the feeding of first-time mothers significantly improves the success rate of breastfeeding, reduces the readmission rate of newborns after discharge, the prevalence of mastitis in lactating women, and improves the depression status,self-care ability and sleep quality of lactating women.
