Abstract:Objective To explore the replacement time of non-invasive needles during the use of total implantable venous access devices(TIVAD)for tumor patients. Methods One hundred and six tumor patients implanted with TIVAD were enrolled in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine from January 2021 to December 2022 by convenience sampling method. They were divided into a control group and an observation group based on random number table method, with 53 patients in each group. The control group received routine 7-day replacement of non-invasive needles, while the observation group received 14-day replacement of non-invasive needles.Compare the incidence of infection after extubation between two groups of patients. Results During the study period, there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of infection between the two groups during catheterization(P>0.05),However,the observation group had longer TIVAD retention time than the control group, and infected patients implanted TIVAD until the infection occurred later than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Properly extending the time for non-destructive needle replacement during the use of TIVAD in tumor patients will not increase their risk of infection, but can also delay the occurrence of infection to a certain extent and extend the retention time of TIVAD.
