The Improvement of Orem's Self-Care Model Theory on Psychological Stress,Self-Care Ability and Quality of Life in Emergency Trauma Fracture Patients

Abstract:Objective To analyze the impact of Orem's self-care model theory on the psychological stress,self-care ability,and quality of life of emergency trauma fracture patients.Methods Eighty emergency trauma fracture patients admitted to Zhao'an County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group randomly,with 40 patients in each group.The control group received routine care,while the observation group received intervention based on Orem's self-care model theory.The psychological stress response,self-care ability,and quality of life between two groups of patients were compared.Results After nursing,the scores of Hamilton anxiety scale,Hamilton depression scale,and mental health symptom self rating scale in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The self-care ability scale and quality of life assessment questionnaire scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of Orem self-care model theory in the nursing of emergency trauma fracture patients can effectively improve their psychological stress response,enhance their self-care ability,and improve their quality of life.
