Clinical Study on the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis by Huoxuetongluo Prescription Heat Poultice by Wet Compress

Abstract：Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of huoxuetongluo prescription heat poultice by wet compress on knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods One hundred and twenty-six patients with KOA who visited the Ganquan Street Community Health Service Center in Haishi from August 2021 to July 2024 were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group,with 63 patients in each group.The control group received routine wet compress,while the treatment group received huoxuetongluo prescription heat poultice by wet compress.The traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores,inflammatory factor levels,and bone and joint function scores between two groups of patients were compared.Results After intervention,the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score,inflammatory factor level,and osteoarthritis index score of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The treatment of KOA with huoxuetongluo prescription heat poultice by wet compress can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients,reduce the levels of inflammatory factors,and improve joint function.
