Effect of Montelukast Combined with Budesonide in the Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of montelukast combined with budesonide in the treatment of allergic rhinitis(AR).Methods A total of 120 patients with AR admitted to Wuzhou Red Cross Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method,they were randomly divided into the combined group and the control group,with 60 cases in each group.The control group was treated with budesonide nasal spray,and the combined group was treated with montelukast tablet on the basis treatment plan of the control group.Compare the therapeutic effects,clinical symptom relief time,incidence of adverse reactions,as well as levels of inflammatory factors and pulmonary ventilation function indicators before and after treatment between two groups.Results The total clinical effective rate of the combined group(98.33%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(86.67%)(P<0.05).The relief time of clinical symptoms such as nasal congestion,itching,sneezing,and runny nose in the combined group was significantly shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the inflammatory factors and lung ventilation function indicators in both groups improved compared to before treatment,and the combined group had significantly better inflammatory factors and lung ventilation function indicators than the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of montelukast and budesonide in the treatment of AR is more effective than budesonide alone,and can further improve the clinical symptoms and inflammatory response of patients,promote the recovery of lung ventilation function,and have good safety.It is worth promoting and using.
