Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of different durations of application of cefuroxime on postoperative Class Ⅰ incision infection and inflammatory response in patients with closed fractures treated with internal fixation. Methods A total of 247 patients with closed fracture internal fixation admitted to Guizhou Hospital of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital from January 2018 to December 2023 were retrospectively selected. They were divided into a control group of 102 cases and a study group of 145 cases based on the duration of cefuroxime medication. The control group received medication after surgery. The study group used medication during the perioperative period, and compared the wound healing and infection status between the two groups of patients,as well as the improvement of peripheral blood inflammatory factors. Results The wound healing level and Grade A wound healing rate of the research group were better than those of the control group, while the wound healing time and suture removal time were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The proportion of deep incision infections in the research group was higher than that in the control group, while the infection treatment time and skin healing time were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of acute phase protein, tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-1,interleukin-6,and interleukin-8 in the peripheral blood of the study group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Cefuroxime used for internal fixation treatment in patients with closed fractures during the perioperative period can promote incision healing, prevent infection, and reduce the body's inflammatory response.
