Abstract:Objective To investigate the application value of fenestration and drainage in patients with oral and maxillofacial cysts and cystic lesions. Methods In this study, sixty patients with oral and maxillofacial cysts and cystic lesions who were treated in Yanggu County People's Hospital from January 2019 to December 2023 were selected as research objects.According to surgical methods,37 cases were divided into minimally invasive group and treated with fenestration and drainage, and the other 23 cases were treated with traditional curettage as the control group. The psychological status[(self-rating anxiety scale,SAS)and self-rating depression scale,SDS)],quality of life[short form 36-item health survey(SF-36)],postoperative surgery related indicators(operation time, intraoperative blood loss, length of hospital stay),surgical success rate, and postoperative complication rate were compared between two groups before and after treatment. Results The operative time, intraoperative blood loss and hospital stay in minimally invasive group were significantly less than those in control group(P<0.05).The success rate of surgery in the minimally invasive group was 91.89%,which was significantly higher than 65.22% of the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the minimally invasive group was 5.41%,which was significantly lower than 30.43% of the control group((P<0.05).There was no significant difference in SAS,SDS and SF-36 scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,SAS,SDS and SF-36 scores in the minimally invasive group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with traditional curettage, fenestration and drainage can improve clinical efficacy, reduce complications, promote postoperative recovery of patients, and improve patients'negative emotions and quality of life,so it is worth promoting.
