Abstract:Objective To analyze the value of video electroencephalogram monitoring in early diagnosis of secondary epileptic seizure after craniocerebral trauma. Methods A total of 84 patients with secondary seizures after craniocerebral trauma admitted to Shuigang Hospital in Liupanshui City from July 2020 to August 2022 were randomly divided into conventional group and observation group, with 42 cases in each group. The conventional group was monitored by routine electroencephalogram, and the observation group was monitored by video electroencephalogram. The detection rate of abnormal electroencephalogram, epileptic discharge, synchronous seizure and epileptic wave in cortex and deep white matter were compared between the two groups. Results The detection rates of abnormal electroencephalogram, epileptic discharge, synchronous seizure, epileptiform wave in cortex, and epileptiform wave in deep white matter were 61.90%,38.10%,28.57%,35.71%and 28.57%in observation group, which were significantly higher than 30.95%,7.14%,4.73%,4.73%and 4.73%in conventional group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of video electroencephalogram to monitor the patients with secondary epileptic seizure after craniocerebral trauma can improve the detection rate of abnormal electroencephalogram and define the clinical classification.
