Abstract:Objective Compare the effectiveness of oral Dydrogesterone and placement of Mirena in preventing recurrence of endometrial polyps after hysteroscopic resection. Methods A total of 86 patients who underwent hysteroscopic resection of endometrial polyps at the Zhifu District Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital in Yantai City from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected. They were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 43 patients in each group. The control group received oral Dydrogesterone tablets after surgery, while the observation group adopted Mirena. Both groups were followed up for 10 months after surgery, and the recurrence rate, endometrial thickness, and menstrual volume and duration at 3,6,and 10 months after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group had a recurrence rate of 4.65%,while the control group had a recurrence rate of 2.33%.There was no significant difference in recurrence rates between the two groups(P>0.05).After 3 months,6 months, and 10 months of surgery, there was no significant difference in endometrial thickness, menstrual volume, and menstrual duration between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion After hysteroscopic resection of endometrial polyps, oral administration of Dydrogesterone and placement of Mirena are both effective in preventing recurrence, and can improve the thickness of the endometrium and menstruation in patients.
