Effect of Dingchuan Decoction Combined with Budesonide in the Treatment of Acute Exacerbations of COPD

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of Dingchuan decoction combined with budesonide in the treatment of acute exacerbations of COPD.Methods A total of 72 patients with acute COPD admitted to Zhaoan County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2022 to June 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 36 cases in each group.The control group was treated with budesonide,while the observation group was treated with budesonide combined with Dingchuan decoction.Compare the clinical efficacy,lung function,inflammatory cytokine levels,arterial blood gas indexes,and quality of life between two groups before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 91.67%,which was significantly higher than the control group's 72.22%(P<0.05).After treatment,the observation group had significantly higher levels of forced expiratory volume and forced vital capacity in one second compared to the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of inflammatory factors in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the arterial oxygen partial pressure in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group,and the arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The quality of life score of the observation group after treatment was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Dingchuan decoction and budesonide has a good effect on treating acute exacerbations of COPD,which is beneficial for reducing the levels of inflammatory factors in patients,improving blood gasindicators and lung function,promoting patient recovery,and improving quality of life.
