Abstract:Objective To observation the effect of dexamethasone combined with ambroxol hydrochloride by intratympanic injection in the treatment of secretory otitis media. Methods Eighty patients with secretory otitis media admitted to Liaocheng People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2023 were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with dexamethasone by intratympanical injection, while the observation group was treated with ambroxol hydrochloride additionally. The clinical efficacy, occurrence of adverse reactions, air conduction hearing, tympanic pressure, and middle ear effusion inflammatory factor before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.50%,which was significantly higher than the control group's 77.50%(P<0.05).After 2 weeks of treatment, the observation group had significantly higher air conduction hearing and tympanic pressure than the control group, while the levels of inflammatory factors were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of dexamethasone and ambroxol hydrochloride by intratympanic injection has better clinical efficacy in the treatment of secretory otitis media. It can significantly improve the air conduction hearing and tympanic pressure, and reduce the level of inflammatory factors in middle ear effusion.
