Abstract:Objective To investigate the adjunctive therapeutic effect of Saccharomyces boulardii combined with vitamin D on children with recurrent respiratory tract infection(RRTI)and diarrhea. Methods This study was conducted on 100 cases of pediatric RRTI complicated with diarrhea admitted to Jinta County People's Hospital in Jiuquan City from January 2021 to December 2022.According to the principle of randomization,100 pediatric patients were divided into a control group and a study group, with 50 cases in each group. After admission, the two groups of children adjusted their choice of antibiotics according to the results of drug sensitivity test. The control group added montmorillonite powder to treat diarrhea, and the study group added Saccharomyces boulardii powder and vitamin D drops for oral administration additionally. The hospital recovery after treatment, the immune improvement after 8 weeks of treatment and the recurrence of respiratory tract infection after 1 year of discharge were compared between the two groups. Results There was a significant difference in the duration of each symptom between the two groups(P<0.05).After 8 weeks of treatment, there were significant differences in CD4,CD8,CD4/CD8,IgA and IgG levels between the two groups(P<0.05).After one year of follow-up,there was a significant difference in the frequency of recurrent respiratory infections between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment of diarrhea caused by RRTI with Saccharomyces boulardii and vitamin D can further accelerate symptom relief, improve immune function, and reduce the recurrence of lung infections in children.
