The Effect of Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Ear Drops Combined with Dexamethasone Injection in the Treatment of Acute Suppurative Otitis Media

Abstract：Objective To Explore the efficacy of levofloxacin hydrochloride ear drops combined with dexamethasone injection in the treatment of acute suppurative otitis media.Methods A total of 86 patients with acute suppurative otitis media who underwent treatment in the Sixth Outpatient Department of the NO.986 Air Force Hospital from October 2019 to September 2023 were selected.All patients were divided into a combination therapy group(61 cases)and a control group(25 cases)according to different treatment plans.The combination therapy group was treated with levofloxacin hydrochloride ear drops combined with dexamethasone injection,while the control group was treated with levofloxacin hydrochloride ear drops.The levels of inflammatory factors and quality of life before and after treatment between two groups,as well as the treatment effect and incidence of adverse reactions were compared.Results After treatment,the levels of inflammatory factors and quality of life scores in both groups were improved compared to before treatment,and the combination therapy group had significantly better indicators than the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the combination therapy group was 91.80%,which was significantly higher than the 72.00%in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the control group was 12.00%,which was higher than the 9.84%in the combination therapy group,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The use of levofloxacin hydrochloride combined with dexamethasone in the treatment of acute suppurative otitis media patients has better clinical efficacy,and can also improve the quality of life of patients,which is worthy of clinical promotion and use.
