Application Effect of 5E Rehabilitation Nursing Mode in Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Community

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of 5E rehabilitation nursing mode in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in community.Methods A total of 120 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were admitted to Donghai Street Community Health Service Center in Hexi District of Tianjin from March 2022 to February 2023 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into the routine group with routine nursing and the study group with 5E rehabilitation nursing,with 60 patients in each group.After a 3-month nursing intervention,the nursing satisfaction of two groups,as well as blood glucose levels,disease cognition,self-management ability,and quality of life were compared before and after intervention.Results After intervention,the fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose levels,disease cognition,self-management ability,and quality of life in both groups were significantly better than before intervention,and the above indicators in the study group were significantly better than those in the routine group(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of the study group was significantly higher than that of the routine group(P<0.05).Conclusion Community elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus adopt 5E rehabilitation nursing mode,which can more effectively control the blood glucose levels,and help to improve the patients'awareness level of diabetes,self-management ability,quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
