Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of phacoemulsification(PHACO)combined with intraocular lens(IOL)implantation in the treatment of high myopia with cataract. Methods A total of 100 patients with high myopia complicated with cataracts admitted to Guangning County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Zhaoqing City from January 2020 to December 2022 were randomly divided into Group A and Group B,with 50 cases in each group.Group A underwent extracapsular cataract extraction(ECCE)combined with IOL implantation.Group B underwent PHACO combined with IOL implantation surgery. The visual parameters, subjective visual perception, and complications between two groups at 3 months after surgery were compared. Results There was no significant difference in uncorrected visual acuity, best corrected visual acuity, mean refractive error,△axial length, and△anterior chamber depth between the two groups(P>0.05).After 3 months of treatment, the nighttime visual acuity, reading and writing, and fine motor skills scores of Group B were significantly higher than those of Group A(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in Group A was 20.0%,which was significantly higher than Group B's 6.0%(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared to ECCE combined with IOL implantation,PHACO combined with IOL implantation can further improve the subjective visual perception of patients and have a lower incidence of complications.
