The Impact of Implementing Midwife Psychological Intervention during the Perinatal Period on Maternal and Infant Outcomes in Pregnant and Postpartum Women

Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of midwife psychological intervention on maternal and infant outcomes during the perinatal period in pregnant and postpartum women.Methods A total of 120 pregnant and postpartum women admitted to Ningde Municipal Hospital of Ningde Normal University from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the research subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 60 cases in each group.The control group received routine perinatal care,while the observation group received routine perinatal care combined with midwife psychological intervention.Observe and compare the negative emotions,delivery time,and maternal and infant outcomes between the two groups.Results The negative emotional score of the observation group after nursing was significantly lower than that of the control group,and the delivery time was significantly shorter than that of the control group.The maternal and infant outcomes were significantly better than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Conducting midwife psychological intervention during the perinatal period can alleviate negative emotions,shorten delivery time,and improve maternal and infant outcomes.
