Application Value of Color Doppler Ultrasonography in Differential Diagnosis of Thyroid Nodule

Abstract：Objective Explore the application value of the color doppler ultrasound in the differential diagnosis of thyroid nodules.Methods From July 2020 to February 2023,a total of 100 patients with thyroid nodules(108 nodules)in Baodi District People's Hospital were selected as research objects.All patients were examined by color doppler ultrasound.Results The pathological results of 100 patients(108 nodules)with thyroid nodules were as follows:84 patients(87 nodules)were diagnosed with benign nodules,including 31 patients(32 nodules)with inflammatory thyroid nodules,26 patients(28 nodules)with cystic thyroid nodules,21 patients(21 nodules)with proliferative thyroid nodules,and 6 patients(6 nodules)with benign thyroid adenoma.Sixteen patients(21 nodules)were diagnosed with malignant nodules,including 11 patients(15 nodules)with papillary thyroid carcinoma,2 patients(3 nodules)with follicular thyroid carcinoma,2 patients(2 nodules)with medullary thyroid carcinoma,and 1 patient(1 nodule)with undifferentiated thyroid carcinoma.The results of color Doppler ultrasound were as follows:82 patients(85 nodules)were benign nodules,15 patients(20 nodules)were malignant nodules.Two patients(2 nodules)with benign nodules were misdiagnosed as malignant nodules.One patient(1 nodule)with malignant nodules was misdiagnosed as benign nodules.The accuracy of color Doppler ultrasonography in the diagnosis of thyroid nodule is 100%.The accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,missed diagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate of benign and malignant thyroid nodules by color Doppler ultrasound were 97.22%,97.70%,95.24%,2.30%and 4.76%,respectively.Conclusion The accuracy,sensitivity and specificity of color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules are higher than 95%,and the misdiagnosis rate and missed diagnosis rate are low.Color Doppler ultrasound can be used as an important means of differential diagnosis of thyroid nodules.
