The Clinical Efficacy of Xiaohuang Powder Applied Externally on Healing of Abdominal Incision during Cesarean Section

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Xiaohuang powder on the healing of abdominal incision during cesarean section.Methods A total of 64 pregnant women who underwent cesarean section in Zhangpu Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2021 to June 2021 were collected as the control group,and 64 pregnant women who underwent cesarean section from July 2021 to December 2021 as the treatment group.The control group was given routine treatment after surgery,and the treatment group was given external application of Xiaohuang Powder on the basis of the control group.The wound healing efficacy,Vancouver scar assessment scale(VSS)scores,and inflammatory factor levels were compared between two groups of postpartum women before and after treatment.Results The healing effect of abdominal incision in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05).After 3 days treatment,there was no significant difference in the VSS scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After 5 days and 7 days treatment,the VSS scores of the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-8(IL-8),interleukin-6(IL-6),procalcitonin(PCT)and white blood cell count(WBC)of the two groups after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment,and the TNF-α,CRP,IL-8,IL-6,PCT,and WBC in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The external application of xiaohuang powder can effectively improve the healing of abdominal incisions in cesarean section women,and has advantages such as improving symptoms and reducing inflammation,which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
