Analysis of Epidemiological Characteristics and Surveillance Quality of Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease in Yangluo Street,Xinzhou District,Wuhan from 2011 to 2021

Abstract：Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics and surveillance quality of hand-foot-mouth disease(HFMD)in Yangluo street,Xinzhou District,Wuhan from 2011 to 2021,and to provide evidence for the prevention and control of HFMD.Methods Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the three distribution characteristics of HFMD cases in Yangluo Street and the timeliness of medical treatment,report and review in the infectious disease reporting information management system of China CDC from 2011 to 2021.Results A total of 3 887 cases were reported,with an average annual incidence of 208.28/100 000,which was 2.24 times of the average annual incidence of 92.97/100 000 in the whole region.Patients with mild symptoms accounted for 99.20%,and the rate of severe symptoms was 0.80%.No severe cases occurred after 2018.The main pathogens were EV71 and other enteroviruses,accounting for 45.77%and 26.06%,respectively.There were two incidence peaks,the large peak was from April to July,and the small peak was from November to December,accounting for more than 3/4 of the incidence.The male to female ratio was 1.49:1,the main patients were scattered children and children in childcare,accounting for 97.17%;The age of onset in children aged 1-5 years accounted for 87.39%.Children in urban areas accounted for 85.82%.The mean time from onset to diagnosis was 2.26d,and the median time was 1.67d.The timely treatment time decreased gradually,but it was extended in the post-COVID-19 phase in the last two years.The rate of timely card application was 99.69%,and the rate of timely audit was 99.87%.Conclusion The epidemic situation of HFMD in Yangluo street in Xinzhou district is very serious,and there are obvious seasonal and regional clusters of the disease.It is important to strengthen the relevant health education and child health protection aiming at children's parents and nurseries,especially the scattered children and nurseries in urban areas in the early period of high seasonal incidence.It is necessary to improve the ability of pathogenic detection and the quality of information reporting in hospitals.
