Retrospective Analysis of Risk Factors for Contralateral Hip Re-fracture after Hip Fracture Surgery in Elderly Patients
PANG Yongfeng
Abstract:Objective? To explore the risk factors of contralateral hip re-fracture in elderly patients with hip fracture after operation. Methods? A total of 326 patients who underwent hip surgery in our hospital from 2010 to 2019 were retrospectively collected and divided into re-fracture group (31 cases) and control group (295 cases). Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed on the risk factors of post-operative re-fracture. Results? Among 326 patients, 31 (9.51%) had re-fracture. Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, sex, osteoporosis and chronic diseases in the elderly were the risk factors of contralateral hip re-fracture after hip fracture surgery (P<0.05); multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, osteoporosis and chronic diseases in the elderly were risk factors of contralateral hip after hip fracture surgery (P<0.05). Conclusion? The main risk factors of contralateral hip re-fracture in elderly patients after hip fracture surgery are old age, osteoporosis and senile diseases. The latter two should be treated actively during perioperative period in order to reduce the occurrence of re-fracture.
