Abstract:Objective? To explore the effect of Western medicine combined with self-made traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions in the treatment of failed back surgery syndrome after lumbar disc herniation surgery. Methods A total of 42 patients with failed lumbar surgery syndrome admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University were selected as the study subjects from May 2015 to May 2018. All patients with lumbar disc herniation who underwent endoscopic surgery. They were randomly divided into control group and observation group, 21 cases in each group. The control group was treated with mecobalamin combined with etocoxib. On the basis of the control group, the observation group was treated with self-made traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions. The therapeutic effect, lumbar function and pain of the two groups were compared and analyzed before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 100.00%, which was significantly higher than 66.67% of the control group(χ2=3.860, P<0.05). The lumbar function and pain of the two groups were improved at different time points after treatment, and the lumbar function and pain of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group after treatment(P<0.05). Conclusion Western medicine combined with self-made traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions in the treatment of failed lumbar surgery syndrome after lumbar disc herniation surgery is superior to Western medicine alone, and can effectively improve the pain and lumbar function of patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
